The CoE Integrated and Embedded Systems (INTEREST) focuses on developing innovative and sustainable Information Technology, Intelligent Systems, IoT, and Embedded Systems to support the vision of an Entrepreneurial University. This Center of Excellence is committed to producing technology-based products that leverage local resources, commercializing research outcomes, and providing technology consulting services. Its primary goal is to create industry-relevant solutions and drive product downstreaming. INTEREST conducts research across three main areas: Smart Farming, which includes precision irrigation, disease detection, and integrated IoT-based agriculture systems; Smart Cities and Villages, through IoT integration for urban management, energy, waste, and quality-of-life improvements in rural areas; and Smart Logistics, Transportation, and Safety, utilizing IoT, big data analytics, and embedded transportation technologies to enhance efficiency and safety.
